Proportions are off

As a female firefighter/EMT I was excited to see pants marketed towards women!

However looking at the size chart, there is only an 8inch difference between the waist and hip measurement (I.e 28inch waist and 36inch hip). Most women’s clothes have a difference of 10inches (I.e. a 28inch waist and a 38inch hip). Clothing designed for athletic/muscular/curvy women usually has a 12+inch difference, and a larger thigh circumference (I.e. 28inch waist, 40inch hip). From personal experience, a large majority of female firefighters fall into this category, meaning the proportions on these pants will not work for the target audience.

Personally, I have a 26inch waist and a 41inch hip, with a 26inch quad (would need a 27+inch thigh pant to be able to move). It’s great that inseam tailoring is offered, but to make these more directed at women, waistband tailoring should be offered as well. I also know many female firefighters with a waist measurement of less than 28inches, generally a size 2 is a 25inch waist.

Great idea, but the execution isn’t there yet. Hopefully someday a brand will make nomex pants that actually fit women’s shapes.

We truly want to be that brand! This is the wife of one of the owners responding and we've been talking about our female pants patterns for a couple weeks now and how to make them more body inclusive.
